Hello! My name is Savannah Honarbakht and my pronouns are she/her/hers. For as long as I can remember, I recognized a fire in me to be able to provide a safe place for those who needed it. This fire brought me to earning a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science, which then led me to earning an M.S. in Sport and Performance Psychology. While working alongside a collaborative healthcare team, I realized how vital mental health wellness was for every client that was in my care. I was able to see the bigger picture, bringing me to earn my M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Speaking as a queer woman, my lived experiences have directed me towards becoming an advocate for systemic equality and transformation. My passions reside in trauma-informed care, gender-affirming care, and helping high conflict relationships of all backgrounds navigate through their journey. I strive to cultivate a non-judgmental environment that allows for connection and validity. Together we can identify and utilize your inner potential and strength to nurture the growth you desire to achieve.

My specialties lie in personality disorders, complex trauma, and defusing high conflict relationships. I take an eclectic approach of care for my clients, as I believe no one size fits all. However, I am attuned to experiential and emotionally focused methods that call for a strength-based approach, client autonomy, emotional awareness, personal and relational growth, authenticity, and a mind-body connection. I often utilize meditation, mindfulness, and expressive arts.

Outside of seeing clients, I enjoy adding to my vast collection of vintage and antiques. I collect items from the Victorian Era up to the 1980’s Post Modern Era. My heart is full when I go to shows or concerts and when I spend quality time with my chosen family, friends, my little cavalier king charles spaniel and my greyhound, as well as my sassy bunny rabbit. When I am not partaking in fun, quality time, or self-care… I am pursuing a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, in hopes of conducting research on same sex and genderfluid couple systems within the LGBTQIA+ community, as the community has brought me so much.

I am supervised by Dr. Erica Carpenter, LMFT-S (Texas License #202458).
